Diamond in the Rust was founded in 2013 on a dream that ended up becoming reality! We pride ourselves on offering a high quality, unique collection of merchandise and great customer service. We treat each transaction with honesty and integrity, and live by the Golden Rule.
What is your Shipping Policy?
Shipping charges are based on the amount of your purchase and is calculated in your cart at checkout. We ship using the most economical carrier to keep shipping costs low for our customers. We currently only ship to the United States. We do not ship internationally or to military addresses overseas.
In our day-to-day life, we recycle whenever possible and we carry that over to our business. We pack and ship with clean, reusable packing materials and boxes whenever possible. We find it appropriate to add this funny story here: once we shipped a pair of curtain tie backs out to a customer in a coconut water box. She wasn't home, but her husband accepted the package and, per the instructions on the box, promptly placed her "coconut water" in the refrigerator. She arrived home to find that her new curtain tie backs had been "chilling out" for a while. So, point being...don't be alarmed if you receive your order in a box that is completely unrelated to what you ordered.
Orders leave our warehouse within 15 business days, except for the case of a special order or backorder. If your order ends up being on backorder, we will contact you and you will have the option of canceling the order, or we will ship it to you as soon as it is back in stock.
What is your Online Return Policy
Our online return policy lasts 15 days. If 15 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded or exchanged.
In the case of a damaged item, you may return it within 15 days of shipment from our warehouse using the following process:
Email the following information along with photos to firstname.lastname@example.org: Name, Phone Number, Order Number, Item Number, Reason for return and photos of the box, inner contents and the damage or defect of the item are required for all claims. To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase dated within 15 days of shipping. Do not ship your item back until we respond with a return authorization number. No unauthorized returns will be accepted.
Returns due to damage or defect will be replaced or refunded.
Qualified returns for any other reason will result in merchandise credit at Diamond in the Rust.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
If you are shipping an item over $50, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item and we offer no insurance or shipping warranties on items shipped by customers.
Gift cards are non returnable. A full refund or partial refund may not be granted for any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a 7 business days.
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he/she will find out about your return.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
